BIGBANG’s TAEYANG is to release a solo debut album and hold his first solo tour in Japan.
YG Entertainment on May 30 said TAEYANG will be releasing his solo debut album in Japan on August 13. On August 12, he will kick off his first “SOL JAPAN TOUR 2014” by performing twice at Osaka’s International Convention Center, Grand Cube Osaka.
On August 17 and 18, he will be at Pacifico Yokohama and on August 23 and 24 at Fukuoka Sun Palace Hotel and Hall. TAEYANG is also geared for a comeback in Korea for the first time in 7 months since “RINGA LINGA.” His latest album “RISE” is to show sides of TAEYANG never revealed before.
Through YG blog, the agency’s executive producer YANG HYUN SUK wrote, “All 9 songs are excellent enough to be the title track” and added, “the title track “EYES, NOSE, LIPS“ is an R&B slow song that steers away from dance moves and maximizes the strengths of TAEYANG’s sentimental voice.” TAEYANG topped music sites home and abroad with “RINGA LINGA” and the dance performance and music videos of the song attracted 36 million views on YouTube.
He was also part of BIGBANG’s Japan’s 6 largest Dome Tour “BIGBANG JAPAN DOME TOUR” that excited 771,000 local fans. With his first mini album “HOT” in 2008, TAEYANG received both soul album and song awards of “Best R&B” at the 6th Korean Music Awards, which was quite an unprecedented event. His first solo album “SOLAR” became the runner-up on American iTunes’ R&B album chart while topping Canada’s Soul album chart.
All eyes are on the artist to see what he has for the Japanese fans through his solo album and the tour.
